I see that some of you are unhappy with the choice you have made with your race. Some of you didn't know anything about the game's backstory so you picked the one that was laid out for you or looked the best.
I see that some of you guys wish to be able to reset your characters race so you can role play more efficiently with the Gallente Federation.
I'm here to tell you that no matter your race, you can still correctly role play as a Gallente National or simply an immigrant.
And do you know why?
The Gallente Federation is by far the most diverse empire in New Eden and has the second largest population. It's home to countless ethnicities, cultures, languages, religions, and economies.
The Caldari that chose to stay behind who did not join the secessionists are still living in the Gallente Federation, mostly unbothered. Some Caldari live in tribal solitude communities in the Kaalakiota Peaks to citizens living in post-colonial settlements across the Federation. The Caldari that stayed behind are even considered to be more traditional than the ones found in The State. These Caldari are the primary group of the Caldari populations that live in the Federation.
The Second group consist of Caldari Immigrants who either left on their own accord because they are tired of the state and it's ways while others were exiled; this typically includes Caldari who were exiled or those who left the State for ideological disagreements (Most Notably for disagreeing with Tibus Heth)
No matter the reasons they cannot return to the Caldari homeworld because they are branded as traitors but they can still make a home within the Federation where they are free to retain their identity or blend in with the Gallente Melting Pot.
The Minmatar make up one of Gallente's highest, Non-Gallente, Minority populations. Whether due to the events following the rebellion or by aid of Humanitarian organizations freeing Minmatar from Amarr captivity to simple immigration The Gallente Federation does house a lot of Minmatar. Most have lived in the Federation for Many Generations and are well inclined to stay with it. Minmatar in lower income systems do witness hardships within the Federation there are many who are in similar positions but in different systems that hold better morals that do not witness such strife the same is said with higher income systems While Stereotypes exist with the Minmatar and some do hold some water (excelling in Engineer and manual labor work positions) they can be found in any profession or wealth bracket.
The Amarr can even be found living within the Federations Territory. Their reasons for living in the Federation are many. Some are simply expatriates in charge of Amarr economic interests in Gallente space, or are missionaries from the Empire. The majority are immigrants who left the home nation for a variety of reasons. Those persecuted for unorthodox interpretations of the Amarr religion are one group.
Other groups simply left on their own accord, as the Empire has no laws against this. Native Gallente who have fully embraced the Amarr religion can sometimes be classified within this group.
How these Amarr have integrated into the Federation varies. Some may take on a Gallente lifestyle while retaining their religion and language within the boundaries of their home. Others have barely integrated, coalescing into their own communities that avoid contact with outsiders. In more cosmopolitan areas, Amarr citizens of the Federation can easily be identified through their fashion, where they have fused Imperial clothing habits with the local Gallente styles.
As you can see The Gallente Federation is one of the easiest Factions to Role Play with because your race
literally does not matter. You will not have to make up a conviluted story as to how your race X is fighting for Race Y or anything.
The Gallente Federation is one of the most diverse empires in New Eden and is proud to be home to it's citizens.
So be proud of your heritage, be proud of your diversity, be proud of the Federation. After all, it is yours. And you know why?
